Place Branding

I was tasked with selecting a location for a rebranding project, and I chose De Pakhuys, a scenic retreat nestled in the Cederberg Mountains. De Pakhuys offers a variety of accommodation options, each with different rates per night, catering to a range of preferences and budgets. This destination is renowned for its outdoor activities, particularly attracting hikers and rock climbers. To enhance the appeal of the location and reflect its unique identity, I designed a luxury logo incorporating the initials DPH. This sophisticated logo aims to elevate the brand’s image, emphasizing the premium experience offered by De Pakhuys while still honoring its adventurous spirit. Additionally, I integrated elements that resonate with the outdoor enthusiasts who frequent the area, such as subtle motifs inspired by nature and climbing. The rebranding effort is intended to broaden De Pakhuys’ appeal, attracting a diverse audience seeking both adventure and comfort.

This project involved designing a business card for De Pakhuys to complement the luxury logo and enhance the brand’s professional image. The business card layout features the logo prominently displayed in the top left corner, ensuring immediate brand recognition. To add a touch of elegance and sophistication, a golden streak runs diagonally from the top right to the bottom left of the card, creating a visually striking effect that enhances the overall aesthetic. At the bottom right corner of the card, essential contact information is strategically placed

For the outdoor sign, I positioned the logo prominently at the top, ensuring it’s the focal point and easily visible from a distance. Underneath the logo, I created a horizontal list that reads from left to right, showcasing the key attractions of De Pakhuys: “History, Trails, Climbing, and Wine.” This layout not only highlights the diverse range of experiences available but also guides visitors’ attention in a natural and engaging manner. The sign is designed to be informative and visually appealing, inviting passersby to explore the unique offerings of De Pakhuys.

I designed a cap featuring the De Pakhuys logo, creating a stylish and functional accessory that showcases the brand’s identity. The logo is prominently displayed on the front of the cap, ensuring it is easily recognizable. This merchandise not only serves as a fashion statement but also acts as a form of advertising, allowing visitors and guests to proudly display their affiliation with De Pakhuys wherever they go. The cap’s design reflects the adventurous and outdoorsy spirit of De Pakhuys, making it a desirable item for those who appreciate the destination’s unique charm and offerings.
